Maniketty Palace Court

Maniketty Palace Court

The place is called 'Maniketty Pottal'. This reminds us of the Nadar title 'Ratnins' who are the diamond holders and inter-continental business people spread to Chera, Pandya and the Coramondal regions extending upto Singapore and Malaysia. The Valamkaimaalai tells about the six jewelled 'Santors' who sailed to Sri Lanka and to countries like Java and China. They were known for their ruling of justice described by the great Tamil poet 'Thiruvalluvar'. This is one of the places from where the ancestors of Niila Marthanda Nadar, the 'Santors' passed their judgements.

"The Dravidian Lineages - The Nadars Through The Ages", a book on the history of an ancient Dravidian community in India, known by more than 300 different names and scattered throughout India, presently cornered to the lower realms of social order as an effect of the long Indo-Aryan conflicts.
